Dr Ingrid McPhee

Ingrid is an experienced clinical psychologist, committed to providing a safe, warm and respectful therapeutic space to adults and young people (18 years and older) seeking to understand their difficulties and create change in their lives. Ingrid is passionate about providing holistic psychological treatment to support the mind and body. 


Ingrid takes a collaborative and integrative approach with each client to develop a treatment plan that recognises their unique strengths and values, and works to address their current challenges, while also promoting their overall health and wellbeing. Ingrid draws on various therapy models to do so, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR; an evidence-based treatment for trauma), Internal Family Systems Therapy, mindfulness and attachment-focused approaches.


Ingrid’s past work experience includes Wesley Hospital, Kogarah, the Children's Hospital Westmead in the Psychological Medicine Department's Conversion & Somatic Disorders Team, the NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors (STARTTS), and Southside Health and Wellbeing, a large multidisciplinary private practice.


Ingrid’s clinical experience, combined with her interest and skills in research allows her to help her clients create change across a range of issues, including (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal and relationship issues, pregnancy and parenting difficulties, coping with illness, stress and adjustment challenges across the lifespan.

  • Doctorate of Clinical Psychology, The University of Sydney

  • PhD, The University of Sydney

  • Bachelor of Arts, Honours in Psychology, The University of Sydney

  • Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and endorsed as a clinical psychologist
